Today I found out I have achieved a distinction in the LPC (and notably, 87% in Employment law – the area I am specialising in!).

This was my final year of studying, after graduating from University with a law degree last summer.

I’m finally out of education and into proper work! I’m now in the legal sector’s equivalent of a graduate scheme (we call it a Training Contract), and in 2 years time I will officially qualify as a specialist employment law solicitor! It will have taken 6 years.

I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since I was about 12 years old! I started at the law firm part time in February (whilst I was still studying-life became crazy busy!) and I love it. Although the hours are long, the work is varied and incredibly stimulating. All the time and money that has gone into getting me here was definitely worth it!

What have you studied for? Do you think it’s worth putting in the time and effort to achieve a long term goal? Is a career important to you?
